Foolish Desires

Take away my foolish desires, and let me find life by walking with you.

(Psalm 119:37 CEV)

We all have desires that throw us off track. Vain desires, such as riches, honours, beauty and fame. The psalmist realized this. He asked God to take away what he called “foolish desires,” and to preserve his life according to God’s Word. There are times when I need to ask God to do the same for me. While we’re in this world, we’re not exempt from having foolish desires, but we don’t have to be led by them. Ask God to take them away and to protect your life according to His Word.

God replaces our foolish desires with the truth of His Word.
