What are You Clinging to?

Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies.
(Jonah 2:8 NLT)

From inside the big fish, Jonah prayed to God. Jonah thanked God for delivering him from death and made the well-known confession, “Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies.” Perhaps Jonah was thinking of the sailors on the ship that he was on earlier. In their distress, each had called on his own god to no avail. What are you clinging to? If it’s anything other than God, then be assured that it’s worthless. Cling to Him and discover the grace that could be yours today.

Clinging to anything other than God is futile.
