Your Story is Far From Over

God blessed Job’s later life even more than his earlier life. (Job 42:12 MSG)

Job had a great beginning: big family, good health and great wealth. But in the blink of an eye, he lost it all. His friends thought the loss meant falling out of favor with God. But in the end we discover that the friends were wrong, “God blessed Job’s later life even more than his earlier life” (Job 42:12). Job’s story wasn’t over. God was still in control and with Him, nothing is ever lost. What Job had was great, but God gave him something even greater. It’s not how we start, but how we finish that counts, and God always writes the best endings.

People like Job’s friends will often view you as a lost cause when you don’t align with their expectation of what constitutes a blessing. Just because your story turned out differently than theirs, it doesn’t mean that you have fallen out of favor with God. Like Job, your story is about to get better. In the natural it may look like you’re losing, but in the supernatural, you’re winning. God is working all things together for your good and His glory. The story isn’t over if the story isn’t good. So keep the faith and trust that the God of Job is still the same yesterday, today and forever. Your story is far from over.
