At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, “Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you.” He replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’ In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!” (Luke 13:31-33 NIV)
Imagine walking into something, knowing exactly what to expect. “As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51). Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem fully aware that He would suffer and die there and He did so with a conquering attitude. In fact, when threatened by Herod, Jesus kept pressing on towards His purpose. Because although part of the divine plan was for Jesus to suffer and die to bring fallen humanity back to God, He would also rise again to fulfill that plan.

One of my all-time favorite Bible verses says, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). It comes after Paul asks a series of rhetorical questions:
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (vv.31-35)
I’m not sure what you’re walking through right now, but all I know is that if you keep a conquering attitude, you will come out victorious, just like Jesus did. Keep pressing on towards your purpose. You are more than a conqueror!
