I’m thanking God, who makes things right. (Psalm 7:17 MSG)

Life has been tough lately. My faith – and patience – has been tested to the extreme. Thankfully, I’ve been surrounded by faithful people who not only cover me in prayer but who constantly remind me of the one thing I need to hear: God makes things right. So this Thanksgiving, I’m doing what the psalmist did, “I’m thanking God, who makes things right,” because I know that He does, and He will.

I’m sure I’m not the only one. Maybe your world seems to be falling apart, too. But like David, you and I can take comfort in the fact that God will make wrong things right because He really does. David wrote Psalm 7 while being pursued by enemies for no apparent reason, and he asked God, the “righteous judge,” to deliver him (v. 11). It was David’s unshakable trust in the Lord as the Righteous Judge that led him to go from recounting the wrongs done to him and begging God to deliver him, to erupting in gratitude and praise to God for making things right. If you’re familiar with David’s story, you’ll recall that God eventually delivered him from all of his enemies.

My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. – Psalm 7:10
It’s okay to talk about your troubles, but in the midst of it, don’t forget that God sees you and He will deliver you from them. And until you see Him do it, choose to thank Him and praise Him for the victory now.
