She Will Not Fall

God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. (Psalm 46:5 NIV)

If “behind every successful man there is a woman,” then behind every strong woman, there is God. We find this truth beautifully illustrated in today’s passage, where we’re reminded that because of God’s presence and protection in our lives, nothing can move us. I know that this Scripture applies to His people – both men and women – but women are so often overlooked that I can’t help but think of this verse applying to them personally.

I come from a culture where a man’s presence is of essence in a woman’s life. It seems as though without a man, her life is incomplete. But a quick look at the Genesis story reveals that quite the opposite is true: man was in need of a woman, so God gave him her. See, a woman’s worth was never tied to a man. She’s complete without him because she finds her worth in God. And because God is within her, she will not fall.
