Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)
In a world full of noise, Christmas invites us to slow down and refocus our hearts on the One who matters most—Jesus. It’s easy to lose sight of the true meaning of the season when we’re constantly surrounded by demands, distractions, and the rush that pulls our attention in every direction. Yet in today’s passage, we’re gently reminded to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” This same invitation echoes through the beloved carol “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” calling us to come and adore the One who alone is worthy of our worship.

Go ahead and enjoy the things that make this season special—decorate your home, stroll through Christmas shops, and embrace the moments that bring you joy. But in the midst of it all, pause. Breathe. Lift your eyes and adore the Babe whose birth brings true joy and gives life its deepest meaning. Without Him, Christmas would not be Christmas at all. He is the “King of angels,” “Christ the Lord,” “God of God,” “Light of Light,” the very “Word of the Father.” O come, let us adore Him.
