New Beginnings

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” — Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)

How is your new year going? Does it truly feel new, or are you still dwelling on old mindsets, habits, hurts, or disappointments?

I have walked with God long enough to know that He is a God who delights in making something new. From time to time, He allows seasons of change—sometimes even shaking things up—to renew our strength, deepen our faith, and ultimately bring glory to Himself.

New beginnings can feel unsettling. Change often stretches us beyond what is familiar and comfortable. Yet at the same time, it can be exciting and refreshing. When we choose to be present and attentive, we begin to see what God is doing, even when the path ahead looks uncertain.

When unexpected things start to unfold, it may be because God is already at work—about to do something new. For those of us who are accustomed to the old ways, He lovingly invites us into change that will be good for us, beneficial to others, and most importantly, bring praise to His name.

As we step forward in faith, we can expect to see His hand at work—delivering us, providing for us, and moving in ways only He can. Even in the wilderness, God makes a way. Even in dry places, He brings rivers.
