Don’t Let the Grinch Steal Your CHRISTmas!

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

(John 10:10 AMPC)

I first fell in love with the story of How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss while teaching Sunday school a few years ago. This story has resonated with me even more in the past few years because while it may look like Corona has stolen Christmas (again!), it’s good to remind ourselves of Who Christmas is all about. See, the Grinch couldn’t really steal Christmas because every Who in Who-ville, the tall and the small, knew that the real present was His presence, not the other things they could live without. That is why to his surprise, the Grinch noticed that:

Every Who down in Who-ville, the tall and the small,

Was singing! Without any presents at all!

He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming!

IT CAME!

Somehow or other, it came just the same!

I pray that as we get ready to celebrate the gift of His presence, we will make it known that He is the perfect present!

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
