The man who had been healed begged to go with him. But Jesus sent him off and said, “Go back home and tell everyone how much God has done for you.” The man then went all over town, telling everything that Jesus had done for him.
(Luke 8:38-39 CEV)
Although “Everyone from around Gerasa begged Jesus to leave, because they were so frightened” upon the healing of the demon-possessed man, and Jesus got into a boat and left, there was still someone left to share the news of what Jesus had done–the man himself (Luke 8:37). Similarly, when we choose to follow Christ, God doesn’t take us to heaven, but leaves us on earth to tell others about Him. This is what He commissioned His disciples after His resurrection, and this is still our mission today.
Tell others what Jesus has done for you.
