I’ll be Joyful in God My Saviour

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

(Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT)

Would you say the same if things didn’t turn out the way you expected? It’s easy to enjoy God when everything is going well, but what about when all is not well? Habakkuk uttered the words in today’s passage at a time when the Jewish nation was about to be invaded by the Babylonians, who were going to destroy the Temple and take the nation into exile. However, regardless of the circumstances, Habakkuk could still rejoice in God his Saviour. What about you? Will you rejoice in God your Saviour come what may? With His help, Habakkuk did, I can and you can too.

Faith helps us maintain our joy no matter what.
