And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
(Luke 2:52 NIV)
Nativity scenes are great visual reminders of the Christmas story. But as beautiful as the nativity story is I’m thankful that Jesus didn’t remain a baby in a manger. Sadly, there are people who like to keep Him there. Their knowledge of Christ is limited to the nativity story. After reporting the birth of Christ in Luke chapter two, the writer goes on to paint a picture of the grown up child. In fact, twice in this chapter, Luke reminds his readers of the fact that Jesus “grew” (Luke 2:40, 52). Get to know the grown up baby. Don’t keep Him in the manger.
There’s more to the Christmas story than a baby in a manger.
