As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.
(Luke 24:28-29 NIV)
When people invited Jesus to their house, He always accepted, regardless of who invited Him. For instance, when a Pharisee invited Him over to eat with Him, Jesus went, even though things didn’t turn out so well (Luke 11:37-54). And when a tax collector hosted a banquet for Jesus at his house, Jesus accepted with pleasure (Luke 5:27-32). He still welcomes our invites. In Revelation 3:20, He tells us, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Welcome Him into your heart and let Him be at home there.
Jesus enters every heart that welcomes Him.
