Pray for Others Always

As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you.

(1 Samuel 12:23 NIV)

Did you ever make it a habit to pray for others to the point that you felt remorse when you failed to pray for them? I believe that this is what Samuel felt in today’s passage. He always prayed for the Israelites that to him the idea of not praying for them seemed like committing a sin against God. It’s as if their very lives depended on his prayers, and they often did. God answered Samuel when he prayed on the behalf of the people. The Bible instructs us to “pray for each other” as well (James 5:16). You’d be amazed at how much your prayers can affect someone’s life. Therefore, the next time someone asks you to pray for them, don’t overlook their request and pray.

Never cease to pray for others.
