Making It to the Finishing Line

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

(Philippians 1:6 NIV)

Whenever I feel like I’m not where I need to be spiritually, I’m reminded of and encouraged by the fact that it’s God who is in charge of seeing that I make it to the finishing line. He is responsible for completing what He started in me. And it’s this fact that keeps me going in my darkest of days. Whenever you feel like you’ll never make it to the finishing line, remember that God, who initiates salvation, is also the one who continues it and will one day bring it to its consummation. All you have to do is run the race.

God completes what He starts.
