David went into the tent he had set up for the sacred chest. Then he sat there and prayed: LORD All-Powerful, my family and I don’t deserve what you have already done for us, and yet you have promised to do even more. Is this the way you usually treat people?
(2 Samuel 7:18-19 CEV)
After hearing about God’s great promise to him, the king did the only right thing to do–he got alone with God and praised Him. I encourage you to read and meditate on David’s prayer in today’s passage. With slight changes, it has become my own prayer to God when I realize what He’s doing and what He’s about to do in my life because I know that He always keeps His Word. Get to know His great promises for your life and praise Him.
Realizing what God has done and will do should stimulate praise.
