A Time of Peace

Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace.

(Acts 9:31 NIV)

After a period of intense persecution, the whole Christian body finally enjoyed a time of peace. We find this consistent pattern throughout the Scriptures. No matter how much pain and trouble God’s people experienced, He also let them enjoy a time of peace. Jesus didn’t promise His followers a trouble-free life, but He promised them His peace. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Therefore, during times of trouble, we can also look forward to times of peace.

Just as there are times of trouble, there are also times of peace.
