Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10 NIV)
I believe that the reason many people are not satisfied with their job and therefore can’t give it their best is because that’s not the job they were meant to do. I worked with students whose aim was to find a career that paid well and made them look good, and not necessarily one that they enjoyed. No wonder our workplaces are filled with unhappy and unproductive people; we’re driven by wrong motives. Find out what it is that you’re good at and enjoy doing, even if it’s not highly regarded by society, and do it with all your might. People may not necessarily applaud you for it but at least you’ll be much happier and productive in the long run.
A good job is more than just a paycheck.
