So Abraham said, “If they won’t pay attention to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen even to someone who comes back from the dead.” (Luke 16:31 CEV)
I once thought that knowledgeable preachers were capable of convincing many people to follow Christ, but as they themselves testify, that isn’t always the case. In Luke chapter sixteen, Jesus told the story of a rich man who died and went to hell. Fearing that his family would end up in the same place, the rich man begged Abraham to send the poor man Lazarus to warn them, thinking that they’d listen to him. However, Abraham told him that they should hear and obey the Scriptures because if they don’t do that, they won’t listen to someone who comes back from the dead.
No evidence will change someone with a closed mind and who rejects the Scriptures.
