It’s great to have someone by our side during a time of need, especially if that someone is God Himself. Paul could testify to that. He says, “The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death” (2 Timothy 4:16-17 NLT). How many of us also find ourselves left to grapple with difficult times with no help from anyone? If you’re going through a hard time alone, take comfort in knowing that God’s got your back.
God stands by when everyone else walks away.
