But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
(Galatians 4:4 ESV)
“When the fullness of time had come…” God’s timing is perfect. He set the time for Jesus’ birth, just as He has set the time for His return. Nothing we say or do can change God’s timing. We can’t rush Him and we can’t slow Him down either. Everything always goes according to His plan. I just love that about God. He is never caught off guard because He is always in control.
We, on the other hand, make plans for our lives apart from God and expect them to prosper. Most of the time we rush to make things happen, only to be disappointed in the end. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we lived within His will so that when His plans for us came to pass, we, too could say, “But when the fullness of time had come, God allowed something I needed to happen?” Just as He knew we needed salvation and provided it through Jesus, we can also trust Him to provide everything else we need. But only when the time is right.
