Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light. (Micah 7:8 NIV)

There’s a famous quote that I’ve come to love and appreciate. It says, “Life is not about how many times you fall down. It’s about how many times you get back up.” I couldn’t agree more. It’s God’s will to see all of us rise after we’ve been beat down. In today’s passage, Israel declares in faith that though fallen, it will rise, and it did. At Easter, we’re reminded of this truth as we remember the death of God’s only Son, Jesus, and His resurrection from the dead. He is our perfect example of what it means to fall and get back up again. And before we think that this privillege is only reserved for the Son of God, we’re also promised His Holy Spirit, who grants us the same resurrection power. So even though we fall, we will also rise.
