Heartwarming Words

They said to each other, “When he talked with us along the road and explained the Scriptures to us, didn’t it warm our hearts?”

(Luke 24:32 CEV)

God’s Word is heartwarming. No matter how discouraged, saddened, restless or weak we may feel, God’s Word has the power to lift us up. The two disciples on the Road to Emmaus realized this. After Jesus’ death, they left Jerusalem, feeling downcast and hopeless, but things changed when they encountered the risen Christ and conversed with Him. “When he talked with us along the road and explained the Scriptures to us, didn’t it warm our hearts?” they asked each other. The Bible says that they got up and returned at once to Jerusalem where they found the disciples and those with them and told them about what had happened on the way (Luke 24:33-35). If you want to be encouraged or to encourage someone today, share the heartwarming words of Scripture.

God’s Word warms the heart.
