Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
(Proverbs 31:30-31 NLT)
The one woman that I’d like to praise is my mother. I can’t help but think of her when I read the epilogue of the wife of noble character in Proverbs 31. My mother is: godly, wise, loving, forgiving, understanding, hardworking, encouraging, caring, beautiful, faithful, thoughtful, patient, kind, a great friend, and, if I may add, a great cook! I’m so grateful for her. I am where I am today thanks to her prayers, wisdom and sacrifices. She has been a great role model for me and I love her. I believe that the key to becoming the woman exemplified in Proverbs is to fear the Lord. And this kind of woman, the Bible says, is worthy of praise.
A woman who fears the Lord deserves to be praised.
