“The LORD can give you much more than that.”
(2 Chronicles 25:9 NIV)
In addition to the men he had hired from Judah to fight in his army, King Amaziah of Judah also hired a hundred thousand fighting men from Israel. However, a prophet from God told him to dismiss the Israelite troops, reminding him that victory came from God and not from a foreign alliance. Fretful Amaziah then asked the prophet, “But what about the hundred talents I paid for these Israelite troops?” and the prophet replied, “The LORD can give you much more than that” (2 Chronicles 25:9).
I remember a time when I also had to let go of something in which I had invested time and money. It wasn’t an easy decision to make. After spending time in prayer, God reminded me of this story, which I had read a couple of days prior, and promised to give me much more than what I had invested. And He did. If you’re on the verge of making a decision that requires some kind of loss, trust that God can compensate you for it.
God can compensate us for all our losses.
