“Then, after doing all those things,
I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams,
and your young men will see visions.
In those days I will pour out my Spirit
even on servants—men and women alike.”
(Joel 2:28-29 NLT)
“What’s the proof that Jesus is alive?” asked me a student one time. “The Holy Spirit,” I answered, as I pondered about what had influenced my own belief in the resurrection. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit reminds us of Jesus’ words, convicts of sin, gives us wisdom, counsel, comfort, courage, seals us unto the day of redemption and gives us power to live the Christian life. The best part is that He is given to anyone who believes in Jesus. Because His presence is so vital for the believer, the Bible encourages us to be continually filled with the Spirit. He is the best gift.
The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to all believers.
