Don’t Go Into Premature Labour

People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does God always get blamed?

(Proverbs 19:3 MSG)

I heard an analogy about waiting on God that really stuck with me. The person explained how no woman wants to give birth prematurely. In fact, she’s worried and upset when she has to give birth before her time because she’s very well aware of the complications that await her and the baby. Any expecting woman wants to give birth in due time, giving the baby more time to develop in the womb.

Yet many of us pray and expect our prayers to be answered right away, while God in His wisdom is saying, “It’s not time yet; you’re not ready for this.” Nevertheless, many people still decide to take matters into their own hands and try to make things happen, which creates more problems. In essence, they give premature birth to something that wasn’t supposed to be born so soon, so they live sad and unfulfilled lives and blame God for it. If you’ve been praying for something and it hasn’t happened yet, keep praying and waiting. God will answer when it’s time. Don’t go into premature labour.
