Going Through Before a Breakthrough

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD…Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”

(Exodus 14:10, 13 NIV)

Just when they thought they were finally free, the Israelites were once again surrounded by their former slave owners. But God had a plan, as His people were about to discover. He was going to deliver them once and for all from Egyptian bondage in a way that they knew it had to be God’s doing. I have found the same to be true of us as well. Just when we think we’re finally going to get our breakthrough, we find ourselves facing a setback. But I’ve been walking long enough with God to know that my breakthrough will eventually come but only in a way that would honour God, so that when I look back I’ll know it had to be Him. Your breakthrough is coming and even more so when you have been pressing more than ever. The Lord will come through for you as He always does. He is the Lord of the breakthroughs. He still parts the waters for us to walk through.
