In the Netflix Season 4 of The Crown (the only Season I’ve watched to the end!), Princess Diana is reminded by Prince Philip that everything revolves around the Crown, or the Queen. Fiction or not, this scene in the series rings true.
See, our lives revolve around a Sovereign too and we will lead miserable lives if we try to make them about us. When Herod heard of the birth of another King, he was “disturbed and all Jerusalem with him” (v. 3). We know that he wanted the Christ child dead, but failed to kill Him. The only ones who understood who the true King was were the wise men. Hmm…I wonder if the Scriptures are trying to tell us something?
This Christmas, let’s remind ourselves of who our King is and let’s worship Him by living our lives in service to Him! Let’s keep Christ in CHRISTmas.
