But the angel said, “Don’t be afraid! I have good news for you, which will make everyone happy. This very day in King David’s hometown a Savior was born for you. He is Christ the Lord.
(Luke 2:10-11 CEV)
Faith Hill’s song, “Where Are You Christmas?” is a fitting song for those of us who seem to have lost our Christmas joy during this pandemic. This uplifting song is an excellent reminder that we can rediscover the joy of Christmas. For me, it means slipping away from all the noise and drawing near to the Saviour. The Grinch said it well, “Maybe Christmas…doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!” This discovery helped him get into the Christmas spirit and it can help us too as we focus on the real reason for the season. Christmas is about Christ.
Jesus is the reason for the season.
