O my son, give me your heart.
(Proverbs 23:26 NLT)
I know a girl who always says that she would much rather have a man’s heart than his money. In other words, she would rather be loved than spoiled. And she’s not the only one. God is also looking for people who will love Him with all their heart and not simply impress Him with their good works. When asked which commandment was the greatest, Jesus answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind'” (Matthew 22:37). God is looking for people who can’t stop thinking and talking about (and to) Him, and who can’t live without Him. “O my son, give me your heart,” He says, and my response is, “I offer you my heart, Lord God” (Psalm 25:1 CEV). Will you give Him your heart today?
Love is the greatest gift we can offer Almighty God.
