Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again.
Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.
(Micah 7:8 NLT)
As God’s prophet, Micah was allowed to foresee the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians and its restoration. Even though the enemies in today’s passage are the other nations, our enemy today is none other than the devil himself. Nothing pleases him more than to see us fall, and as imperfect beings, we will. We’ll make mistakes. However, like Jerusalem that fell because of sin but rose again, we, too, are encouraged to get up when we fall. God doesn’t give up on us, and neither should we. Take hold of His hand and let Him lift you up of the mess you may find yourself in today. Just don’t give up!
When you fall, get up again.
