Eating Right

But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

(Matthew 4:4 NLT)

I can’t go a day without reading the Bible. It has become my spiritual food. This is the point Jesus makes in today’s passage as well. When tempted by the devil to turn the stones into bread to satisfy His hunger after a long fast, Jesus said that physical nourishment isn’t enough; we also need spiritual nourishment. In fact, Jesus quoted the Scriptures each time He was tempted and was victorious. Feed yourself daily on God’s Word, so that you, too, can become spiritually strong.

Feeding daily on God’s Word makes us spiritually strong.
