“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances.”
Shakespeare, As You Like It
Suppose Shakespeare was right and we’re all merely players, how well are we playing our role in life? It seems as if not everyone is pleased with the role that God has assigned to them. We crave for a bigger role even if we’re not yet ready for it and as a result, fail miserably at it. Our time performing the role that we chose for ourselves doesn’t last as long as we expected and we soon exit the stage in disappointment. We simply can’t re-write His script and expect success.
Yet God, who is the Director of our life story, knows what role we were made for. And those who follow His script are cued to His direction and perform their role well. As a result, they merit our admiration and applause, and in return, God receives all the glory and praise.
Follow the Director’s script for your life and don’t attempt to change it. After all, you’re merely a player.
