Only you can say that I am innocent, because only your eyes can see the truth.
(Psalm 17:2 CEV)
Have you ever been wrongfully accused or judged for something that you did or didn’t do? What did you do about it? If you’re like me, you probably spent your time and energy trying to explain and defend yourself. Well, not anymore. There came a time when I finally realized that there was no use trying to defend myself to people because I could never get them to change the way they think. They simply can’t understand. What helped me the most though, was understanding what the psalmist realized a long time ago–that God, who knows us better than anyone else, knows our real motives and that’s what really matters. Therefore, we’re to be accountable only to God. His opinion of us should be what matters to us. Let Him be your advocate and set you free of the fear of what people think about you, so that you can live at peace.
Stop trying to defend yourself and let God be your advocate.
