Finish What You Started

Also our enemies said, “Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work.”

(Nehemiah 4:11 NIV)

While rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah and the people faced constant opposition from their enemies. However, that didn’t stop Nehemiah and the people from completing the work. Similarly, be sure that you’ll encounter opposition while doing what God wants you to do. This is because the devil is “an enemy of everything that is right” (Acts 13:10), but you don’t have to succumb to his threats. If God got you started on doing something, keep on going and don’t stop. When the walls of Jerusalem were finally rebuilt, Nehemiah records the following, “When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God” (Nehemiah 6:16). So complete the task that you’ve been given with confidence and courage, knowing that you have the help of Almighty God Himself!

God enables us to finish what we started.
