Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”
(Matthew 12:38 NIV)
There’s the Pharisee and teacher of the law in us that still asks Jesus for a sign. We would like a tangible sign that would reveal God’s will for us. True to His character, God provides the sign (and sometimes more than one), but like Jesus’ contemporaries, we have a problem paying attention to it. After making bad decisions in life, many look back and admit that there were signs along the way that they were given to prevent them from making those decisions, but which they ignored. If you’ve asked Him for a sign and He’s provided it, take note of it.
God places signs along the way, but it’s up to us to heed them.
