Being Genuine With God

All of you praise me with your words, but you never really think about me.

(Matthew 15:8 CEV)

The Pharisees and teachers of the law were superficial people. They put on a show of being very religious and they fooled almost everyone, except, of course, Jesus. Only He could see that their words weren’t in sync with their hearts, and He wasn’t afraid to point it out. You and I can learn from their mistake. We should pray and ask God to help us keep our words and hearts intact, so that honouring Him with our lips would be a reflection of how we truly feel about Him.

Say what you mean and mean what you say to God.
