Letting God Choose Our Friends for Us

Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.

(Ephesians 6:21-22 NIV)

Before choosing His twelve disciples who would be with Him and carry out His ministry, Jesus prayed for wisdom. Paul, too, carefully chose the people that he wanted to collaborate with him in ministry. A long time ago, I made it a habit to pray for godly associates and over the years, God has blessed me with such people. Proverbs 12:26 says, “The righteous choose their friends carefully.” Choose your friends with care because few years down the road you’ll be glad you did.

Ask for God’s wisdom when choosing your friends.
