The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.

The more we get to know God, the more we will begin to understand His ways and assume His character. When the devil comes along and attempts to threaten our wellbeing and peace, we can do what God does and “laugh,” view with scorn Satan’s weak attempts to disturb us. This is the picture that the author paints in today’s psalm. While the nations conspire to rebel against the Lord’s anointed, His Christ, “the One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them”, at their futile attempts to overthrow His dominion (Psalm 2:4). What’s Satan plotting against you today? Instead of resorting to fear, tears and self-pity, run to the One who is enthroned in heaven and learn to laugh along with Him because you’re His child and He will see you through it.
