First Priority

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

(Matthew 6:33 NLT)

I’ve learned that putting God first makes everything else fall into place. Spending time with Him before moving on to the rest of the day’s activities gives me more than enough time to do what needs to be done during the day. A friend of mine used to wonder how I managed to complete all the work and still have time for leisure, and my answer was simple–I give God priority before doing anything else. Now, of course, my motive has always been to honour God by putting Him first, and not because I expect to get something from Him. However, the passage in Matthew 6:33 makes it clear that if we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, all the other things will be given to us as well.

Putting God first makes everything else fall into place.
