Then the LORD asked, “What do you think of my servant Job? No one on earth is like him—he is a truly good person, who respects me and refuses to do evil.” “Why shouldn’t he respect you?” Satan remarked. “You are like a wall protecting not only him, but his entire family and all his property. You make him successful in whatever he does, and his flocks and herds are everywhere. Try taking away everything he owns, and he will curse you to your face.”
(Job 1:8-11 CEV)
Many people hate to be wrongfully accused. Yet the Bible tells us that someone has been accusing us day and night before God (Revelation 12:10). Satan, meaning “accuser” in Hebrew, has been doing that from the beginning of time. He accused Job of not fearing God for nothing, and he stands before God’s council in heaven each day and accuses us as well. But just as God defended Job, we can trust Him to defend us as well. After all, God made us and He knows us better, and one day, He will do away with Satan and his accusations.
God’s defense surpasses Satan’s accusations.
