And the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day, because on that day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.”
(Exodus 19:10-11 NIV)
When the Israelites were going to meet with God on Mount Sinai, God told Moses that they had to prepare themselves outwardly to meet Him, which was symbolic of the inner disposition God expected of His people. God still expects us to look our best, both inside and out, when we go to church. Earlier in our Christian walk, my friend and I used to say that we like to look our best for God, without realizing the implication of our words. The next time you meet with Him, remember to look your best inside and out.
Look your best, especially when you meet with God.
