And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9 KJV)
She was going through some mortgage papers, when she pointed at the year they had purchased their house and said, “It has taken two years for it to be ready!” I was reminded of a message I had heard just the day before about being ready. “Just because you think you’re ready for something,” I said, “it doesn’t mean that other people are too.” She nodded in agreement.
Due season. We grow weary of having to wait for things. We want instant results. We rush into marriage, parenthood, promotions and the like, even though we, or the people involved, may not be ready for them. We forget that there’s a seed time and harvest time. It takes time for seed to grow so you can enjoy its fruit. God has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). So slow down and enjoy the things God has given you now.
