The Best Route Guide

Jesus answered, “I am the way…”

(John 14:6 NIV)

I’m so grateful for GPS and apparently, I’m not the only one. Many devices and vehicles now come with a GPS, which just goes to show how essential marketers believe it is. After all, driving by an unfamiliar route is no longer a concern because we can be guided by a system that knows its way around (or at least we hope it does!).

However, as fascinated and thankful as I may be about a GPS, I’m even more grateful for the best route guide that I’ve had for a long time: Jesus Christ. Having lived on earth Himself, He can help guide us through life. In Hebrews chapter 2, the author reminds us of Jesus’ humanity and concludes with the following powerful words, “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted” (Hebrews 2:18). And having come down from heaven, Jesus is also the perfect guide to lead us there. “No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-the Son of Man” (John 3:13). If you can’t find your way through life and are not sure of where you will go when you leave this earth, why not let Jesus show you the way? He is the best route guide.

Jesus can show us the way through life and to heaven.
