God Values Young People

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.

(1 Timothy 4:12 NLT)

While society sees young people as incompetent and immature, God sees great potential. In fact, almost every leader that God raised up was young, leaders like Joseph, David, Jeremiah and as today’s passage reveals, Timothy. Therefore, Paul encouraged young Timothy (and every young person today) with these words, “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” Timothy took Paul’s advice to heart and God used him mightily. If you’re young or know someone who is, remember that God values young people and is able to use them greatly.

Age is no obstacle to God.
