I’m Happy Now…It’s Where I’m Supposed to Be

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.(Romans 8:28 AMP)

In the American romantic comedy, Runaway Bride, Maggie Carpenter eventually confronts the men she had run away from. One of the men becomes a priest and Maggie goes to him for confession. When she apologizes for hurting him, Father Brian doesn’t throw a pity party like the other men, but says to her, “Maggie, I’m happy now… here. It’s where I’m supposed to be.”

Someone once remarked that life is lived forwards but understood backwards. If we honestly took the time to reflect on how our lives have turned out, we would also agree that “[God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” His plan is so good that when we look back, we can really thank Him for it. Like Father Brian, I have no regrets of the past and can honestly say that I’m happy now…It’s where I’m supposed to be.

Life is lived forwards but understood backwards.
