Rising with the Son

We are more than conquerors through [Christ] who loved us.

(Romans 8:37 NIV)

It’s been eight years since I launched my personal blog on Facebook. At first, Rising with the Son sounded like a catchy title for a Christian book I intended to publish. I still remember brainstorming a bunch of titles with my best friend, Marlene (I don’t know what I would do without her!), until we finally came up with one that would transform my life and, hopefully, the life of all of my readers.

Over the years, “Rising with the Son” has become my life motto. I strongly believe that every born-again Christian should be rising with the Son – growing in Christ and living in victory. Every post on the blog has been inspired and prompted by an event or circumstance through which God has taught me to rise. When I look back at my earlier posts, I realize how much I’ve matured as a Christian and a writer. There are many things that God has taught me since then which have manifested themselves through various posts.

I appreciate the outpouring of support I’ve received over the years, but I’ll never forget that one time when a woman, whom I didn’t know had been reading the blog, walked up to me and told me how encouraging my posts had been to her. She even went on to tell me which ones. Anyone can applaud you for a job well done, but when they tell you how much you’ve helped them it encourages you to want to keep going. It is my prayer that in the coming years, Rising with the Son will continue to inspire and encourage its readers to develop an intimate relationship with God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Because those who do are bound to rise with Him.
