This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
(Hebrews 4:15-16 NLT)
“No one understands like Jesus,” someone once said, and they’re right. No matter how understanding someone might be, they’ll never totally understand what we’re going through the way Jesus would. That’s why in my time of need, I’d much rather run to His throne of grace, where I’m assured of His mercy and grace, than run to someone else and be disappointed. One of Joyce Meyer’s well-known sayings is “Don’t run to the phone, run to the throne.” We’d be wise to follow her advice.
Don’t run to the phone, run to the throne.
