So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.
(1 Corinthians 10:14 NLT)
The Corinthian Christians’ pagan background incited Paul to write to them about the need to flee from idolatry. And while we may not necessarily come from a pagan background, we still need to consider Paul’s words because we’re not exempt from the temptation to worship something or someone other than God. Every now and then, I like to examine my heart and ask God to help me let go of any idols that might have crept into my life. God doesn’t tolerate and won’t admit any other deities besides Himself. Our God is a jealous God!
Guard your heart against idolatry.
